Following a detailed tender process the decision was taken to change our school catering provider for 2015-16 to Chartwells.

Both Byrchall and Chartwells are committed to providing our students with nutritious, balanced and tasty meal options. Not only is this important for developing healthy bodies but it also helps students to learn better in the classroom.

Facilities

We have two dining areas - the main dining room and A15.

The main dining area has seating for 140, and A15 has seating for 70.

The Breakfast Club serves a variety of toast, crumpets, bagels, waffles and pancakes, along with a selection of drinks, between 7.45am and 8.30am. It also provides a chance to sit and relax in a warm, dry and safe environment for those who arrive at school early.

Cashless Catering

We no longer accept cash at the tills for school meals, instead cash can be deposited through two cash loaders which are situated in the A10 Corridor.

Pupils are allowed to top up their account with cash before morning registration, during break and lunchtimes and after 3.00pm. Pupils are not allowed to top up their account during lesson times.

We also offer an online payment system (WisePay) where parents, if they have access to the Internet, can top up their child's account using a credit or debit card.

A guide to using the cashless payment system can be downloaded here and provides information for those who may be concerned about the use of biometric data.
