Working Together

The successful partnership between parents, carers, students and staff is a major contributing factor to our students' achievements. We hold parental involvement in high esteem and strive to ensure parents and carers are kept fully informed throughout the year. We provide regular information about academic achievement and share how students are progressing towards their target grades throughout the year. A full written report is produced on an annual basis and parents and carers have the opportunity to meet staff at Parents' Evenings.

Our Home-School Agreement outlines how students, parents, carers and school staff can work together to ensure student success; the students' weekly planners provide an important channel of communication between home and school. We also keep in contact with home through regular newsletters which are available on the school website and we welcome parents and carers to all major functions.

Parents and carers have automatic membership to our strong and flourishing association, The Friends of Byrchall. This group organises a range of activities throughout the school year for students and adults within the school community; many of these raise money in aid of the school to support the education of students. The Friends of Byrchall includes parents, carers, relatives and friends of students, past and present. The educational and social functions organised by the group afford an excellent chance to meet informally as well as providing important fund raising opportunities. We are grateful for their ongoing support and generosity.
